2013 CLOS PEPE PINOT NOIR IS HERE

There’s always a palpable excitement surrounding the release of a new vintage of Clos Pepe Pinot Noir, a perennial favorite among our followers. I’m pleased to say the 2013 Clos Pepe Pinot Noir will not disappoint. You’ll find a subtle elegance in this vintage, backed by the unmistakable aromatic intensity and rich flavors this vineyard is known for. We especially enjoy it with duck and chanterelle mushrooms. If you haven’t made a trip to Wine Country yet this spring, we highly recommend coming while the hills are still emerald green and wildflowers are flourishing. We received over 3 inches of rain in March, which puts us ahead of last year’s rainfall totals, but still slightly behind average. Budbreak has been very even in all vineyards, which will help ensure the grapes within each block will ripen at the same time. When bud push is consistent, as it is this year, the resulting wines tend to have a better aromatic and flavor profile since there will be less over ripe and under ripe berries on the clusters.

The flagship wine event in Santa Barbara County! The 33rd Annual Santa Barbara Vintners Festival Grand Tasting takes place on Saturday, April 23 from 1 to 4 pm at River View Park in Buellton. Celebrate with over 120 Santa Barbara County wineries and winemakers, more than 40 food purveyors and chefs, regional artists, live music, and more.
