INTRODUCING A TRIO OF PINOTS

Pinot Noir lovers rejoice! We have a trio of Ken Brown Pinot Noirs coming your way, including the much-anticipated 2012 Cargasacchi Vineyard Pinot Noir. Take all the components you love about Cargasacchi—intense aromatics, incredible richness, complex flavors—then kick it up a notch. That’s what the 2012 delivers! The aromas and flavors are explosive and the texture is seamless. It’s perhaps one of our best Cargassachi Pinots ever. With a very small production of only 95 cases, our wine club members were given the first opportunity to purchase this wine. Sales are now open to all mailing list subscribers and tasting room visitors, but we anticipate the Cargasacchi Pinot will not last long.

We also are releasing two Pinot Noirs from the superb 2013 vintage. Our 2013 Duncan’s Cuvée Pinot Noir is incredibly silky and well balanced. It pairs well with lamb and grilled salmon, but this one is so scrumptious and easy to drink, you just might want to sip it on its own. Our 2013 Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir combines fruit from seven outstanding vineyards—a list that reads like the who’s who of our appellation. The wine is charming, bright and beautifully integrated.

NEW RELEASES


2012 CARGASSACHI PINOT NOIR

This exceedingly aromatic and complex wine is perhaps our finest Cargasacchi Pinot Noir to date. This small 16-acre vineyard is one of the stars of the Sta. Rita Hills appellation, and features Pinot Noir clone 115. Dramatic aromas of deep dark cherry with hints of fresh tilled earth, black truffle and white pepper leap out of the glass. The palate features an explosion of ripe dark cherry and blackberry flavors with a touch of slate, cured meat and French oak-inspired spice. Its firm structure and intense concentration are beautifully balanced by smooth tannins and an opulent richness. The components will continue to intensify and develop, assuring great longevity for this wine. Only 95 cases made. Limited magnums available. Click here for more information or to order.

2013 DUNCAN’S CUVÉE PINOT NOIR

This harmonious Pinot Noir blends fruit from three exceptional Sta. Rita Hills estates: 60% Rio Vista, 20% La Encantada, and 20% Rita’s Crown. The wine is beautifully balanced, silky and lush. Attractive aromas of ripe cherry and fresh earth tones are accented by hints of cracked black pepper and lightly toasted almond. The palate features luscious flavors of Bing cherry and black cherry with subtle notes of fresh tobacco and an appealing touch of spice on the finish. The texture is elegant and sensual, providing a velvety background from start to finish. The drinkable style of this wine makes it enjoyable upon release, but the components will become even more complex with additional bottle age. Only 217 cases made. 2013 SANTA BARBARA COUNTY PINOT NOIR

This wine showcases some of the finest Pinot Noir vineyards in Santa Barbara County: 48% Rio Vista, 22% Buona Terra, 8% Nielson, 8% Rita’s Crown, 6% Radian, 5% Zotovich, and 3% Clos Pepe. This Pinot is charming and bright with a dark garnet color, lively fruit forward aromatics and rich, expressive flavors. Aromas of deep red cherry are interwoven with ripe strawberry notes accented by hints of cinnamon and licorice. The lush aromatics give way to classic Pinot Noir fruit expression enveloped in well-balanced, soft tannins. The wine culminates in a rich, harmonious finish. While the very drinkable style of this wine makes it enjoyable now, extended cellar aging will promote even more depth and complexity. Limited magnums available.
