NEW RELEASES

2018 ZACA MESA VINEYARD SYRAH
Think of this as a full circle moment.... Zaca Mesa founding winemaker, Ken Brown plants the first Syrah vines in Santa Barbara County in 1978. Exactly 40 years later under his own label, he produces a Zaca Mesa Vineyard Syrah grown on cuttings from his original vines. That's the history brimming from this bottling of Ken Brown 2018 Zaca Mesa Syrah! The wine boasts aromas of black raspberry and black plum highlighted by hints of bay leaf, anise and cracked pepper. Luscious flavors of cassis, blackberry jam and a hint of sage are supported by rich tannins and a smooth, lingering finish. The superb texture and complex profile will only be enhanced with additional time in the cellar. Only 113 cases madeMore info

2018 SANFORD & BENEDICT VINEYARD PINOT NOIR
From the cradle of Santa Barbara County Syrah we turn to the birthplace of Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir—the venerable Sanford & Benedict Vineyard planted in 1971. Grapes for this bottling originate from Block 4D planted to Clone 943. In typical Sanford & Benedict fashion, this Pinot Noir displays both intensity and sophistication. The nose offers rich aromas of black cherry, blueberry and smoked meat with subtle hints of minerality and white pepper. The silky mouthfeel gives way to vibrant flavors of cherry cobbler and pomegranate with a touch of chocolate malt. The bright acidity and velvety tannins are beautifully intertwined to create an exceptionally balanced wine that will cellar gracefully for years to come. Only 221 cases made. More info
