Winter is a pretty quiet time in the Sta. Rita Hills. The vines are still taking their yearly nap. Our 2025 wines are likewise resting in their barrels, quietly softening and maturing. The December rains were rough on holiday travelers but very good for the health of our vineyards, cleansing the soil and replenishing the water table ahead of the growing season. In the meantime, we are beginning to make our plans for the coming year. 2026 marks Ken's 50th harvest here in Santa Barbara, so keep your eyes peeled for event announcements coming soon!

February's Featured Library WineAs part of Ken's 50th harvest celebrations, we'll be featuring outstanding older wines in our tasting room throughout the year. These wines will be available to taste and purchase while supplies last. Because they are in very short supply there will be a limit of three bottles per customer.
Our first featured library wine is our 2015 La Encantada Vineyard Pinot Noir. Here we find the grace and elegance we expect from a 10-year-old Pinot. The color is a beautiful garnet hue. On the nose we find hints of figs, shitake mushrooms and forest floor. The silky pallet features cranberries, dried cherries and notes of balsamic, moving on to a smooth finish of cinnamon and dried thyme. The bright acidity allows the complex flavors to mingle and harmonize.
