' New Chardonnay & Syrah Anyone?

TWO STELLAR VINEYARDS, TWO EXCEPTIONAL WINES

2015 RITA'S CROWN VINEYARD CHARDONNAY
Situated at an elevation of 600 to 950 feet, Rita’s Crown is particularly exposed to coastal fog and chilly winds from the nearby Pacific Ocean, ideal for the production of premium quality Chardonnay. This stunning wine offers fresh, expressive aromas of apricot and honeysuckle accented by hints of seashell, Meyer lemon zest and a touch of triple creme brie. The palate features enticing flavors of crisp pear, lemon curd, brioche and a hint of nutmeg. The rich texture is harmoniously intertwined with a crisp acid profile. The finish is opulent, yet bright. This Chardonnay will continue to develop, becoming even more complex with additional bottle age. More info

2014 WATCH HILL VINEYARD SYRAH
Watch Hill is a relatively cool site in Los Alamos Valley. Soils are a mix of sand and clay, low in nutrients, which helps keep cluster size small and contributes to the striking dark color and rich concentration of the wines. Complex aromas of blackberry and dark plum are complemented by hints of smoked meat and white pepper. Beautifully ripe flavors of black raspberry, black plum and violets provide a burst of flavor on the palate. The rich, opulent texture is supported by a nice bridge of tannins and a touch of natural acidity that perfectly balances the wine. This wine will deepen in complexity and richness with additional time in the cellar. More info

OUR NEW WINERY AT "140"

Winemaking at Ken Brown has moved to 140 Industrial Way in Buellton, just a few blocks from our tasting room. Our winery at "140," as we like to call it, began operations with the 2016 vintage and consolidates wine production, barrel aging, case good storage and production offices under one roof. It also gives us a nice venue to host winemaker dinners, members of the trade and special events. Many Wine Club members already had a chance to check out the new digs last month at a members-only Open House which included barrel samples from Ken.

As an exclusive benefit, Club members may book a private seated tasting in our winery VIP room for groups of 4 to 8 people hosted by Ken, John or Duncan. Appointments are available on Fridays and Saturdays at 11 am and 2 pm. For reservations, please email john@kenbrownwines.com. (Tasting host depends on date and availability. Reservations taken in order of receipt. No cancellations less than 48 hours in advance. $50 fee for missed appointments.) Find out more about Ken's Priority Wine Club here.
